Yes it is. After about 2 years of deliberation, our Amity’s hosting a high school Model United Nations at the in-wait for in-ternational level.
For those of you who’ve never taken part in one before, MUNs are events where you get to take on the role of the delegate/diplomat for a country and debate on relevant international agendas over a period of three days. Basically, you simulate the United Nations. (What is up with these role playing competitions anyway?).
In the run up there is a lot of high octane debating, desperate researching and smooth lobbying. There is even a global press that circulates a newspaper every day of Aaj Tak style masala. What makes it more awesome is the fact that you get to suit up, and in the process, grow a pair (of diplomacy glands of course).
Though I’ve just taken part in three so far, they have been amazing experiences, and though I’m not that good at it, you never get such opportunities to learn again. So, it is amazing to know that my school is organizing one. And here it is:
Of course, for all your Delegate needs such as background guides, country allotments, contact information, or even nicely bulleted lists about what to and what not to do at such events, you can hop across to our website http://www.aimun.in/.
UPDATE: Won Best Delegate Award, Delegate of China, General Assembly.
