Waltzing tastebuds
I left today to pursue yet another of my favorite passions-FOOD. And since I love it so much, I decided that I just have to start writing about it. After dinner at DLF’s foodcourt, Eat, I opted to give Häagen Dazs a shot, what with the initial controversy and my sincerely amorous love for exotic desserts.
The parlor was chock-full of people and the first thing you notice after the rich aromas and hot girls eating chocolate is the whopping price list. You gotta shell out 350 bucks(+ 12% VAT) for a 2-scoop sundae and it is quite hefty considering the quantity. But to find out whether it was worth the buck, I had to buy one to find out.
So I bought a Choco Brownie Explosion and got to a table. I dug my spoon in, and took a cautious bite. And there it was, pure euphoria.
The Belgian Dark Chocolate ACTUALLY tasted rich, dark and very Belgian as compared to the Gelato or Baskin Robbins ones which couldn’t perfectly capture the flavour and were named so just to look good on the flavour card. Cookies N’ cream was also fantastic as the vanilla base was delicious and when did Oreos not taste good in dessert? Brownie pieces were infused with chocolate, though quite hard. The chocolate syrup was absolutely lip-smacking.
One thing thats special here is that the icecream is extremely firm and yet not hard at all. This is coz they use pure egg yolk and no emulsifiers which makes the icecream extremely dense, delicious and with a butterfat content that guarantees your not fitting in that new dress of yours.
However, at 400 Rs., that li’l sundae is still not worth your buck. Were it 250, or even 300, they’d find me at their doorstep every week. Not to mention that they’d kick some nice round ice-cream-scoop-like competitor ass. ;)
Whoosh! So much ado about icecream. That sure makes me famished. :D
